About the project
The multifunctional center GoRise Science House creates a unique scientific and educational ecosystem where scientific tourism, entertainment, scientific thinking, and collaboration intertwine, as well as, of course, modern community development models. The center offers not just a space or a regular service, but a whole experience. Here, visitors find a unique platform for collaboration, where the pleasant and the useful are intertwined. The center provides people with a scientifically grounded and convenient environment for work and collaboration, positioning Goriss as a new center for scientific tourism.
In the GoRise Science House building, GoRise TeaLab & Cowo will be located, and GoRise tea will also be produced. The main recipients of this product will be single mothers from the Goriss community and neighboring settlements, who: receive family benefits; have three or more children; are divorced; widows; have an average income; do not have a convenient work schedule due to the need to care for children. Guest houses operating in Syunik, like most cafes and tea houses, do not pursue social goals and do not adhere to an environmentally responsible approach, while rejuvenating tablets do not work in terms of scientific tourism.
The heart of the center is the tea house GoRise TeaLab & Cowo, where a pleasant, creative atmosphere, productive work, and, of course, interesting tea varieties served at each meeting are organically woven into the overall concept. GoRise TeaLab & CoWo is a socially entrepreneurial tea house and coworking space where women from vulnerable groups, such as single mothers, will be employed, providing them not only with work but also with skills and experience, opportunities for self-realization, and dignified participation in community development. At GoRise TeaLab & Cowo, students, young researchers, representatives of the scientific field, various working groups, and ultimately those community members who resonate with this concept meet. It is the perfect place for tourists seeking unusual venues for leisure and business meetings, as well as for freelance work, during which they can discover Goriss in a new way.
The center will manage the tea production enterprise GoRise Tea – high-quality local products, adhering to an environmentally friendly approach to production, offering customers clean, healing teas produced locally, in beautiful packaging and with respect for environmental protection principles. Teas will be served at GoRise TeaLab & Cowo, becoming an integral part of discussions, meetings, and scientific excursions. Customers are informed that the production of these teas has a social focus, and each purchase helps the local community.
GoRise, where single mothers living in Goriss and the surrounding areas will be able to find work. Medicinal herbs from the Syunik region will be used in production, and it will be based on the principle of environmentally friendly and waste-free production. In addition, other vulnerable groups, such as women with disabilities, who also face serious difficulties in finding work, will be employed in tea packaging.
Alongside tea production, the center will produce eco-bags and boxes for tea packaging, which will also use waste from tea processing, ensuring waste-free production and creating an ecological cycle. The production will operate on renewable energy generated by solar panels, thus supporting a complete closed-loop eco-production cycle, virtually eliminating carbon dioxide emissions, ensuring the center’s energy independence, and reducing long-term production costs.
If a social entrepreneurship system is created in the “GoRise Science House,” the community will become inclusive, scientifically grounded, gain stable jobs, be socially active and environmentally responsible, leading to an improvement in the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups, strengthening community resilience, as these actions simultaneously address several key issues: the problem of providing employment for socially vulnerable groups, the possibility of continuous development for these groups through education. Thus, the center contributes to the development of an inclusive, sustainable, scientifically grounded, and environmentally responsible community in Goriss.
