🔧 Modernizing container sites
In 2024, Almaty actively upgraded its solid household waste management system by replacing old metal containers with modern, buried plastic models with a capacity of 3 m³. These containers offer:

Currently, the city has 1,454 container sites, of which 287 are buried types.

To foster environmental awareness in Almaty, there are eight comprehensive recycling collection points, including eco-stations EcoSen and EcoHub Econetwork. Additionally, over 1,300 mesh containers have been installed for collecting "dry" waste fractions, and 53 reverse vending machines have been launched for collecting plastic and aluminum beverage cans.

The LLC Green Recycle processes up to 550,000 tons of waste annually. In 11 months of 2024, 15.2% of waste was recycled, amounting to 74,637 tons of secondary raw materials.

Almaty ensures 100% coverage for the collection and disposal of solid household waste (SHW) among residents. 21 waste disposal organizations provide waste removal services, utilizing a total of 283 specialized vehicles.
